Below Construction Inc. is a California Corporation licensed as a general contractor in the state of California. Our full name is W. A. Below General Contracting & Building Consulting Services Inc. Our license # is 424289.

Areas of Expertise

As general contractors, we work on both residential and commercial projects, bringing high levels of expertise in project construction, consulting, and management.

We build new homes and guest houses. We remodel residences which can include such things as kitchen & bath remodels, second story additions, master bedroom and bath suites, decks, family rooms and swimming pools.

We also build commercial buildings and perform tenant improvements. We remodel existing commercial buildings, which can include anything from converting a commercial shell to offices to putting a restaurant in a commercial space.

We have our own cabinetry shop where we design and fabricate kitchen and bathroom cabinetry as well as design and fabricate custom cabinetry and furniture for both residential and commercial installations.

Below Construction has been in the construction business for more than 25 years.

Facilities

Our offices and shop are owned and operated by Below Construction Inc. and are located at 146 Powers Avenue, Santa Barbara, CA, in The Railroad Square Complex.

By car, take US highway 101 to the Santa Barbara Milpas Street Exit. Proceed south on Milpas to Cacique Street. Turn right on Cacique and turn right on Powers Avenue. Railroad Square is located just north of Fess Parker's Red Lion Inn Hotel and Convention Center.

Community Involvement

Mr. Below is a past president and past member of the Board of Directors of CALM, Child Abuse and Listening Mediation, a Santa Barbara child abuse preventative agency; Chairman of the Board of Managers of The Santa Barbara Family YMCA; a former Board member of The Santa Barbara Family Care Center; a basketball coach for 5 years at The Santa Barbara Family YMCA; a participant for the past six years in The Santa Barbara YMCA Campaign For Youth; and active in the Santa Barbara Youth Basketball Organization.

Education

Mr. Below received a BA from Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania, and an MA and Ph.D. from The University of California at Santa Barbara.
